WHAT IS GOLD FILLED?

"Gold filled" (also called "rolled gold") is comprised of a layer of solid 14K gold which is permanently bonded to a base metal, usually brass. The layer of gold must be a minimum of 1/20th (or 5%) of the weight of the item. Gold fill is very hard wearing and will not peel or flake, unlike gold plate, under normal wear. It is therefore commonly used as an economical alternative to pure gold.

Please note that earrings for pierced ears are non-returnable for hygiene reasons in accordance with the terms of the EU Consumer Contracts Regulations (June 2014).
