WHAT IS GOLD FILLED?
"Gold filled" (also called "rolled gold") is comprised of a layer of solid 14K gold which is permanently bonded to a base metal, usually brass. The layer of gold must be a minimum of 1/20th (or 5%) of the weight of the item. Gold fill is very hard wearing and will not peel or flake, unlike gold plate, under normal wear. It is therefore commonly used as an economical alternative to pure gold.
I got these hoops as I have some charms with a really small loop on them, so I needed some thin hoops that I could put them onto. These work perfectly and are lovely quality! Such a great price and arrived so quickly, thank you!
