Choose Headpin Length (including spiral)

Handmade 14 carat gold filled spiral head pins for use in jewellery making. The price is for one pair of headpins - choose your preferred wire gauge and pin length to suit your project needs.

These pretty swirl tip headpins are individually handcrafted from 14K gold filled wire. One end of each pin is formed into a spiral by hand and the spiral part is then hammered to flatten it, which also makes it super sturdy and strong.

The head pins are then polished in a barrel polisher for added strength and shine.

WHAT IS GOLD FILLED?

"Gold filled" (also called "rolled gold") is comprised of a layer of solid 14K gold which is permanently bonded to a base metal, usually brass. The layer of gold must be a minimum of 1/20th (or 5%) of the weight of the item. Gold fill is very hard wearing and will not peel or flake, unlike gold plate, under normal wear. It is therefore commonly used as an economical alternative to pure gold.
